Whether you’re traveling or at home, sometimes you just don’t have more than a few minutes to get yourself out the door. When my morning routine is compromised, there are a couple of things I always manage fit in—even if I have to do them at a red light. I’ve found these quick, easy touches keep me and my clients feeling beautiful and vibrant no matter how busy the day ahead. You may not have the luxury of time, but you can still give yourself the luxury treatment.
Running around can be dehydrating, especially when traveling, but there’s no need to fall victim—just add extra moisture wherever you can! I like to prep lips with Jouer Lip Enhancer before color to keep them from getting chapped—I also like using the tinted ones on their own. A cold spritz of aerosol water before or after make-up brightens the skin and helps you look alert. And don’t forget to lay on the hand crème, it’s so easy—and something about well treated hands just makes you feel more polished.
If you’re checking yourself out in the rearview mirror and pondering a quick improvement, here’s how to stay bright-eyed with no bushy tails. Looking vibrant is all about light on the eyes. Just adding a few little details can make a dramatic difference. Refresh eye drops are a go-to of mine if I’m feeing tired. You can curl your eyelashes, add a sweep of soft (espresso, eggplant, or navy) pencil through the lash lines, and brush a neutral shell colored eyeshadow across the lid. Or, another easy thing I might do in a pinch is just press a little sparkle in the center area of my eyelid to add a little glimmer. It doesn’t require much precision or much product, just dab once, press, and spread.
Even when braving pressurized cabins and cramped cars, a blow-out can last up to four days with a little extra care. Use a mini flat iron or a curling iron, and some lightweight shine oil to keep wisps around the nape of the neck, ears, and temple smooth. A little hair paste can help to tame fly-aways and smooth wild hairs framing the face. A quick scalp massage is also a great way to add an extra burst of volume, with the added benefit of soothing tension and energizing you.
Feeling beautiful is a head-to-toe thing, and your whole body can use the extra pampering on a busy day. When we’re on the go, I treat Giada’s legs and feet with a scented body oil that smells like an exotic getaway. It’s an extra touch of luxury and comfort that makes a big difference.
Add whatever’s left on your hands to the ends of your hair.
You never know where the day will take you! Always keep a mini rescue beauty kit in your car or travel bag in case you need to amp-up your look at a moment’s notice. Must-haves are a voluminous mascara, bronzer or blush, lip gloss with color, moisturizer, and a mini-can of hairspray.
This stuff works moisturizing magic on lips and cheeks, and is even good for taming fly-away hairs.
I love your post. Very interesting. I am so happy for you.
